Welcome to the new resume.

It’s ridiculous to me that our entire careers are dependent on how much a person can cram onto one 8.5”x11” sheet of paper.

While trying to fit my entire personality and life experience onto one standard PDF page, it stuck me how silly the whole thing is. The decision on who a company hires becomes more and more important the smaller the team is. In 2023, we can do better. So, I’ve created this online resume, where I can ramble as much as I want! I also created a conventional PDF resume, because who doesn’t love a challenge?

Experience

The hospitality industry helped me combine my love of travel with a career path. This path gave me lots of valuable people and management experience, however was not my ultimate passion. Calibration and maintenance technician experience allowed me to get my hands dirty, and really expanded my love for fixing things myself. Luckily, I’ve been able to use my creative skills in almost every professional setting I’ve entered.

Education

Straight out of high school, I attended Thompson Rivers University’s Digital Art and Design program. After one semester, it was clear the path I was advised to follow was not going to work. Instead of wasting more money, I left school to travel and work. Once I had enough life experience, and enough passion for creativity built up, I attended Vancouver Film School’s Digital Design program, evolving my hobbies into my career.

Certifications

Because I have interests in so many different areas, I’ve gained an interesting combination of certifications. How many designers do you know that can also save you from an H2S exposure? In all seriousness, what this means is I’m ready to work with clients in the oil and gas sector, even on site.

Skills

Everywhere I’ve worked I’ve brought skills that have made me a key worker, far beyond my job title. I’m usually in there like a dirty shirt. My capabilities far exceed my certifications. I am a very good researcher, and I love to learn new things!

Pastimes

How someone works and what they are like to work with are very different. In small, close-knit teams, how a new member fits in is just as important as the skills they bring. What a person does with their free time can give great insight into their character, helping you make the right pick.
